Overall, the two million richest people pollute more than the seven billion 'poorest' people in the world combined. What we often consider poor, is not necessarily poor. This is often just a colonial understanding of the people and communities that consciously choose to stay close to nature, according to #ecocentric ontologies. There are many alternatives to capitalism and many of these can be seen in the ecology of the subaltern, in indigenous knowledge systems.
